Smithsonian Institution
The design of this pendant is derived from a cross section of shell. The DNA from a variety of shells are being researched by our scientists at the Department of Invertebrate Zoology. The diversity of geometric forms and color patterns that are revealed when a shell is sliced is immense. Shells can be found in our collections at the Department of Invertebrate Zoology, National Museum of Natural History at the Smithsonian Institution. Proceeds benefit the Smithsonian. Materials: pewter with silver finish, cable chain included. Spring-ring closure. Length of chain: 18" Made in USA
